Dear Friends:
I want to provide some information regarding my support
for House Bill 1197 – Child Welfare Accountability Act
of 2005. This bill would require the Secretary of Human
Resources and the Secretary of Budget and Management to
develop and implement a system of accountability to
measure the effectiveness of child welfare services.
The bill was assigned to the House Appropriations
Committee and a public hearing was held on March 8th.
The bill received a “favorable with amendments” report
by the Committee, and passed the House today with a vote
of 109-24. The bill now goes to the Senate for their
consideration.
I appreciate your thoughts and input on this matter.
Thanks again for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Ann Marie Doory
